Gaza Cease Fire

This does not sound particularly peaceful nor does it sound like the end of hostilities, but its a start.

Yahoo: Israel declares unilateral Gaza cease-fire
Israel declared a unilateral cease-fire Saturday in its 22-day offensive that turned Gaza neighborhoods into battlegrounds and dealt a stinging blow to the Islamic militants of Hamas.

This is an old story, how do you tame the mind of an extremist fundamentalist. Its like dripping water on a rock, it takes centuries to make an impact. The problem is, it has to happen now, and so the only method employed has been war and death because diplomacy is not working.

At the basic level we are still talking about ordinary human beings. Even though each side thinks of each other as if they were unknown aliens from another galaxy, there needs to be some kind of essential human communication.

This war in the Middle East has grieved everyone on this planet for decades. Its become unbearable for most people and the objectivity is becoming blurry.

Why does Israel win? Because of the old parable. Why does the Rabbit get away from the Fox most of the time? Because the rabbit is running for his life and the Fox is only running for his next meal. Israel is that rabbit the Arab/Muslims are the Fox.
