Approximately 92% of American troops fatalities in Iraq occur because of involvement by the Iraqi Sunnis. Yet in America we hear over and over about the Iraqi Shiites and their connection to Iran which is a predominantly Shiite country. Approximately 8% of American troop deaths are the result of Shiite involvement.
Of course the neo-cons and Bush, the neo-con president, want war with Iran. This has been a long standing neo-con goal, explicitly stated in the Project for a New American Century's salient PNAC document.
Why then do we not hear about the Sunni's and their connection to Saudi Arabia?
Does it have to do with oil and the Bush-Saudi connections perhaps?
Why do we support the Saudis when they provides resource to Al Qaeda?
Curiously by aligning itself with the Saudis, Bush has made the US take the side of the people that support Al Qaeda.

and from Democracy Now a summation of the Hersh article - U.S. & Saudis Covertly Pump Money To Sunni Groups Hersh reports this comes as the Bush administration and Saudi Arabia are pumping money for covert operations in many areas of the Middle East – including Lebanon, Syria and Iran – in an effort to strengthen Saudi-supported Sunni Islam groups and weaken Iranian-backed Shiites. Some of the covert money has been given to jihadist groups in Lebanon with ties to Al Qaeda.
