Scooter Proxy

It occurs to me that the Scooter Libby trial is actually a proxy war.

The two powers pulling the strings behind the scenes of this war are Bush and company, the other is the People of the United States.

One side sees a thread of redemption, a delaying tactic, obfuscation, spin, a long enough gap of time to allow oneself to slink away unscathed, and more secrecy.

The other side sees and smells blood. This side also sees what's behind the big Wizard of Oz smoke screen that hides the unparalleled secrecy of Bush and company. Oh, and this side also gets - justice.

Am I supposed to believe that all of Bush's or Cheney's honchos would have lied or exposed the name of a CIA secret operative all on their very own.

Am I supposed to believe that this was some kind of criteria to work in that shark tank.

Hey, you got the job, but just remember if it ever turns out that you might have to expose the identity of a secret CIA agent than you know what to do, wink wink.

Now how nuts is that.

Cutting to the chase: Bush and Cheney gave the directive to out the agent.

Hopefully the proxy war dissipates and the real war takes place. That's the new war I want to see started.
