Armed

This is one curious article.

Cheney criticizes China's arms buildup

excerpt: "Last month's anti-satellite test, China's continued fast-paced military buildup are less constructive and are not consistent with China's stated goal of a peaceful rise," he (Cheney) said.

Peace! Cheney! Its oil and water.

Read this to mean, American military dominance is hindered by your futile military expenditure. Don't waste our time.

China is 95% surrounded by American military interests, from Europe right around the southern Asian rim (with the single exception of Iran) to Japan and Korea.

Cheney feels that the American military is practically limping from neglect and underfunding. This is carefully stated in the PNAC document.

The American military budget is now larger than the rest of the entire world's military budgets combined, including China's.

The only way in which the culture of America ever changes, is to begin reducing the monstrously bloated military budget, the freed moneys then used for responsible social needs from education to infrastructure to research to health care. In this way, the collective money of the American people purchases something that is used for creative purposes as opposed to destructive purposes.

Creative enterprises generate more and more possibilities.

It is disturbing to hear wonder candidate Obama talk about a need to increase the military budget if he were elected. The idea being to increase it in his first year then less so in subsequent years. When I heard this, my only thought was, ok who got to this guy.
