The Market On Monday

Good morning. It is 14 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a sunny day with temperatures in the 20s this afternoon. It's cold out there. Well today is the day the electoral college officially makes Trump the new president. It's a new world.

At 9:20 a.m. ET futures are slightly higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open slightly higher.

The indexes continue to hover around record highs. Of note, Janet Yellin will be speaking on the state of employment in the US. Investors will be carefully listening for signs or indications of any further interest rate hikes.
