Strikes me that Trump is the new Teflon man. His wide amazing array of bumbling behavior, erratic changes in thought, odd violent expressions of racism, misogyny, white supremacism, nuclear Armaggedon, mixed with narcissism and egomania, have no effect on his followers. In fact the more the merrier, the worse he is and reveals to us, the more he is liked. That is Teflon.
