The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 79 degrees and overcast here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast predicts that the temperature will hit the high 80s this afternoon and that it may rain. As I am typing I'm hearing the sound of lawnmowers cutting grass before the rain possibly arrives. We see that Trump has released his energy plan. It's a plan alright, a plan for runaway global warming as Trump proclaims the need for more oil drilling and less regulation. In short, it is a recipe for more disaster. And yet he claims to be an intelligent person.

At 9:15 a.m. futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open higher.

The first quarter GDP has been revised up to .8% in the green from the previous reading of .5% in the green. The slight improvement is regarded positively. Janet Yellen will be speaking at Harvard this afternoon and investors will once again carefully monitor her words for signs of a base interest rate hike. Enjoy the weekend...
