This article tries to make the claim that sea rise will be 3 ft. in 100 yrs. It's BS! According to Dr. James Hansen and his team in a recently published paper, it's going to be more like 10 to 20 ft. in the next 50 yrs. The other thing SLATE misses in this story is that this rise is going to be non-linear in time as well as location.
The thing I liked about the article was the reminder that this is going on now. Global warming is happening now and its effects are going on now. Realistically speaking even a 3 foot rise is going to change history, 5 to 10 it's hard to comprehend, a lot of land is going to disappear.
