WaPo: House Speaker John Boehner to resign at end of October
Following Boehner’s announcement, House Republicans said there was agreement to pass a clean spending bill to avert a government shutdown.

Good. He's been less then useless. Unfortunately, my guess is some really silly tea party type wingnut will replace him.

They were saying on MSNBC that the replacement is someone who is very similar in style and policy understanding to Boehner. So, go figure.
