The Market On Thursday

Good morning. It is 59 degrees and overcast here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Sunshine is expected later today. We are into October and it's a bit of an adjustment as we know what lies ahead. I was watching Tweety last night and a good part of the show was about the Ebola patient in Dallas. The Ebola case and the President's lack of Secret Service security have dominated the MSNBC News for the last few days. Truth is Obama has gotten shoddy treatment the entire way.

At 7:00 a.m. ET futures are slightly lower and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open lower.

It's no secret here the market has been drifting over the last month and there was a severe drop on Wednesday. October started out with a thud. Tomorrow the government releases figures on employment in September. Perhaps that might shake off some of the doldrums. Otherwise it's still going to be the third quarter corporate results that will create clearer direction for the market.
