The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 55 degrees and scattered cloudy here in the Upper Hudson Valley. It looks like we could be in for a glorious Fall day, I hope. I'm back to working on this old house. Part of the work is about trying to rebuild an entire exterior wall before the temperatures turn unfriendly. I've got a really good jump on the work and plan to be good to go for the Winter in one week. It's good having enough health back so that I can do it as the project has been on hold for about a year.

At 8:10 a.m. ET futures are significantly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open higher.

Although the market has been in decline over the last few weeks, it appears to be more of a significant correction than another crash as in 2008. We hope that's true. Regardless, the morning is set to open strongly - how it finishes is another matter. Could it be time to actually start paying attention to the economic indicators rather than the fear index?
