The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 55 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Sunshine is expected. Are you ready for Ebola? Yikes! I don't know exactly what to make of it, but it would appear that at the minimum we have a tiny/small outbreak of the dreaded disease. Just what we needed another disease huh. Fortunately we live in an advanced country with our health care ability, our health care accessibility is of course another issue.

At 8:45 a.m ET futures are moderately higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open higher.

I just read where the U.S. government is stating that we added 248,000 jobs in September. That's a good number and the afterglow of that report should resonate positively around the economic pillars of the country. Will it boost Wall Street today? Who the hell knows, you would think it would but lately things have been going sour fast. We still need to hang on for the third quarter corporate report phase coming up real soon.

The monthly jobs report is one of the most closely-watched market events because it gives investors an in-depth update on the health of the U.S. economy.
