The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 33 degrees and cloudy here in Upstate NY. The weather logos are predicting a day in the 40s and a string of similar temperature days in the next week. Here we are on the second day of Spring and as I look out the window of my work studio it still looks like Winter out there although some brown frozen ground is starting to emerge here and there. The snow from a massive storm in early February remains and is very slowly melting away.

At 8:45 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open higher.

After a week of turbulence surrounding the Fed's monetary policy, the Crimea mess, and a trip up of the massive Chinese economy, the market appears to be poised for a day of gains. And here we were thinking that a correction was underway. Perhaps it is but for the opening bell it's clear sailing

CNN: Stocks: Set to close week with a gain
... quadruple witching.

"...there was some good news out there last night on the (Federal Reserve's) stress test: 29 of the 30 big banks passed."
