Follow this harsh story carefully. California produces a large percentage of America's food. With the price of food now at a prohibitive level, no relief is in sight, in fact one might fear even more expensive food especially given the severity of this drought. My answer to this problem - more personal gardens, more community gardens, more co-operative farm ventures such as farm shares etc, and one final idea that I would like to see in my own community - an indoor community garden capable of year round vegetable growing, yup right through the winter too.
