Good morning. It is 73 degrees and clear here in Upstate NY. The temperature is predicted to hit the 90s later today. As we know it is the anniversary of 9-11, and what a day that was, remember. The day will be intensely etched in my mind for the rest of my life, that's for sure. It occurs that at this point most of the children in the world were born after 9-11 and so the generation that is not intensely connected to the horror is already here. I watched Obama deliver his compact appeal on national TV last night. All I can say is I hope a diplomatic solution can prevail. I'm sure the irony is not lost on many that here we are 12 years after 9-11 and we are on the verge of another bombing campaign in the Middle East.
At 8:30 a.m. ET futures are flat and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open in the flat to slightly lower area.
The market has has a nice little run the last few days. This was fueled by a reduction in fear over the Syria conflict, good economic news out of China, and falling crude prices. It appears that as of this morning there is a pause in the action so to speak as investors ponder the next steps and direction of the indexes. Meanwhile the indexes are back to a pleasing fluffiness.
