This image is from the Weather Underground folks and it shows a projected path for Hurricane Sandy.
Any of my friends that read this blog that are going to be in the path of this thing, I want you to make a promise to me that you are going to do the safest things possible here. Take precautions now, don't wait.

I'm dead in the bullseye here in S.Jersey coastal zone. Bailing to my brothers house offshore in the morning. A 4-8 ft. storm surge is being predicted for Absecon Island ( Atlantic City) where I live. My home is 1/2 mile from the Ocean with lots of homes ,streets etc. in the the path of the surge, however the Barrier Islands tend to flood from the bay sides as well so it's like a sinking ship at sea when these things hit. Wish me luck as I shuffle the deck chairs around here. What a yr. this has been here. 1st the warmest winter ever and then the Derecho in late June now this beast.
I figured you were in the path, geez.
Here in Upstate NY minimum we get a lot of rain, and wind. We have a big oak tree in the front which is my main concern. I got the generator on standby because we always lose power. We got by Irene okay in this town but other areas really got slammed including Vermont, so people are nervous.
