Weakest field of candidates that I can recall. The Republican Party regardless of what happens to it in 2012 is a mess. Its a rag tag collection of very divergent ideologies. Because of the latter, these candidates are saying the craziest things in order to appeal to as much of the rag tag collection as possible. Neocons and fundamentalists have nothing in common yet they co-exist in the GOP.
As far as I can tell the most egregious thing that will come of the GOP field is a candidate who will inevitably get us into another war, rather quickly too, and probably with Iran. Most of these guys are being tutored by neocons on foreign policy, including Romney. Neocons are slobbering over Iran. They can't go to war there fast enough. Some type of justification needs to be spelled out are pumped through the MSM and there are people at work on this issue this very instant, have been for a while too.
A GOP president will further exasperate an already exasperating situation. Austerity will be further invoked, entitlements further cut or eliminated, regression of health care rights including abortion reduced, further shifting of wealth to the upper .001%, another war. The best they can do for the economy is create another artificial bubble which will inevitably burst as the country reals and the poverty base expands.

This is funny. They are rushing to endorse the candidate they don't like over the candidate they like even less.
