China China China

Obama is meeting with Hu Jintao and the future is in the air like an overly scented candle.

Pay attention to this. As you know China is moving to the very core of the worlds' economy. We can use the glamor of our media and our swollen pride to experience American exceptionalism all we want, China is beginning to literally own us.

One major note here is that China is rapidly improving its military. Their development of a stealth fighter is very alarming to America. If one looks at the placement of US military bases around the world, it becomes apparent that many surround China. One suspects that deep in the neo-conservative school, that an all out attack on China is desirable. This is one among many reasons why a Palin presidency would be disastrous as she is coached in politics by the most ardent of neocons.

Obama calls for a “rebalancing” of trade relations – currently China’s trade surplus with the US has ballooned to nearly $230 billion – so that the Chinese become bigger consumers of products “made in USA.”

Another key element for the US is improving Chinese respect for intellectual property rights.
