Lead Paint

Many of you are unaware of a new ruling from the EPA that requires virtually all contractors and people who work on houses built before 1978, to be certified to deal with lead paint.

I went through the 8 hour certification course today, yes sir and mam, 8 to 5.

Here is the skinny and the short story. If your house was built before 1978, 78 being the year lead paint was outlawed, it will now cost you probably about 50% more to do a renovation including a window replacement.

The setup and requirement for the contractor is extensive and very time consuming.

I did in fact learn something, so it was not all b.s. It is valuable. Do I agree with it, well yes and no.
