Essentially they are all living in a traumatized state of being right now. One person spoke of literally dreaming about brown waves of oil. That's a nightmare.
McClatchy: The oil spill colors the fabric of Gulf coastal life
"but you walked close to the beach and you couldn't miss the smell of oil. Your heart just sinks.''
"Business has just gone to nothing.'' One recent day's tally: a bag of ice and a can of soda. They plan to add more food, to feed the fishermen-turned oil spotters plying the bayou.

The OIL Corps. could care less. The price of them being rich. These are heartless Corp. robots. They're destroying the whole f*cking Planet in an orgasm of greed and avarice & here's the galling twist for the rest of us ,these criminals are being rewarded by the pols and the bureaucrats they deal with.
At one time, once upon a time, big oil, at least in an American myth way, seemed to be above board and okay. Now its evolved and is all about ravaging and devastation while we simultaneously dislike oil and also can't exist without it ( or with it if you live in the Gulf). We can't see out of our blinder. I puzzle on this all the time. Where does the economy go which is oil based, and where does our society which is also oil based, go.
We've had no choice. It's not oil based because we the consumer chose that course.
