Levin On Cheney

Senator Levin is not mincing words.

Having read the documents that Cheney claims indicate that torture helped save lives, Levin is calling Cheney a liar.

It doesn't get much clearer than that.

CNN: Levin: Memos don't show what Cheney says they do
The Michigan Democrat told the crowd that the two CIA documents that Cheney wants released "say nothing about numbers of lives saved, nor do the documents connect acquisition of valuable intelligence to the use of abusive techniques."

"Cheney's world view, which so dominated the Bush years and dishonored our nation, gained a little traction last week -- enough to persuade me to address it head-on here tonight," Levin said. "I do so because if the abusive interrogation techniques that he champions, the face of which were the pictures of abuse at Abu Ghraib, if they are once more seen as representative of America, our security will be severely set back."

So Cheney lied. no great news here. The man is pure Evil Incarnate. Defending torture, the indefensible. Goes to show how low the Bush administration sunk to. I think that Bush was an Idiot used by Cheney and others. The country lost big time during that shameful time.

Who's to say Cheney lied? Have you see the documents? Could Senator Levin be lying? SHOW THE DOCUMENTS! Where is the "transparency" of this administrator claims they support?

btw, I love the comments Levin had to say [the memos] "say nothing about numbers of lives saved". Is that like what BO talks about when he says "number of jobs saved"? All I have to say is PROVE IT!

What a joke the left is.

When it comes to who said what or who is telling the truth, I would take Cheney over Levin any day.

The liberals are what they are because of their ability to lie and cheat and get away with it.

I maintain that everyone including Hannity, Limbaugh, Cheney, and Bush know that waterboarding is torture. They have to repeat the line that it is not torture because it is a building block for the entire neocon extravaganza of the Bush years 2000 to 2006 roughly. If that block gets knocked away, they become extremely vulnerable to prosecution, investigations, and tons of bad press, in spite of the media's failings. At this point, they repeat the line because they could be subject to even more political damage for the Republicans.

It is a curious debate. Of all the things that need to be answered in this country, there is a debate going on because bringing someone to a state of drowning suffocation may not be torture. Anyone who has ever experienced anything close to suffocation knows that it is terrifying. So the debate is conducted because there is a political price, no other reason, its just about politics and political power.

Cheney is lots of thing, but he is not stupid.

Carl Levin would have no way of knowing what Vice President Dick Cheney read or didn't read.

He's one of the SIX. Who's a LIAR?

Senate Amendment to the Supplemental Budget
S.AMDT.1133 to H.R. 2346
To prohibit funding to transfer, release, or incarcerate detainees detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to or within the United States.

90 Yea, 6 Nay, 3 Not Voting (Byrd, Kennedy, Rockefeller)

The 6 Nays were

Richard Durbin (D-IL)
Tom Harkin (D-IA)
Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
Carl Levin (D-MI) <----------
Jack Reed (D-RI)
Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

These SIX Senators are the most liberal in the U.S. Senate, and their public slams since 9/11 have been instantly translated to languages of the Mideast and posted for Terrorist Recruitment and generation of American Hatred.

Carl Levin is one of their Leaders, and all SIX probably got to the President after this vote to cause him to speak about closing Gitmo and moving Detainees to New York City.

The Banter is a perfect DNA Match.

Besides, President George W. Bush has spoken. Albeit not as Obama or Cheney, but he confirmed what Cheney said about water-boarding, other legal methods, and what useful results came out.

Now after all that stumbling by Liberals and Obama, do they really want to attack President Bush as he states no more interest in it than President Clinton? President Bush is a Christian, and "treats President Obama the way he wants President Obama to treat him".

Beware: Historians take note of this. President Obama has to put a Pop-Up Block on his Teleprompter.

Dick Cheney was never in the military.

Rumsfeld was in the military but Cheney avoided the draft.

Of course Levin's comments about Cheny reveal nothing about loud mouth American tourist types representing the U.S. Government; oh I'm sorry I am wrong, it does.

Bush and Cheny represented the US Government at a time, that could only be compared to Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

They could not afford to be wrong.

The only responsibility Levin had at this same time was to hit the toilet bowl, not urinate on the floor and keep from zipping it up in his trousers afterwards.

Per my previous post, two out of three is not bad.

At the time of 9/11, of course the entire US Government and the world was hanging on Levin's every word; too bad he didn't have anything important to say then, or now.

What a yenta.

CNN failed to mention the Democrats voted NOT to have an official hearing to see if the CIA or Rep. Pelosi lied. Why would they do that, if they really wanted the truth to come out? Could it be the Dems can continue to make politics with our safety. Let's face face it, Democrat voters have a tendency to believe what ever they want to hear. Why let facts get in the way of a good story.

Politics with our safety? LOL! Oh yea were in really big danger. NOT!
