Guarantee

What can we say about McCain's guaranteed victory.

It does fly in the face of all polling. It confirms our fear of a fixed vote count. It also goes with our sense that American voters may swing to McCain. Who knows.

One thing though, this is a strange statement. If we apply a simple test and reverse the situation. We imagine Obama saying this. We find it unhelpful and irritating.

Politico: McCain guarantees victory
“I guarantee you that two weeks from now, you will see this has been a very close race, and I believe that I'm going to win it,” McCain told interim "Meet" moderator Tom Brokaw. “We're going to do well in this campaign, my friend. We're going to win it, and it's going to be tight, and we're going to be up late.”

Uh Oh! This is worrying me. The electronic vote machines are a real unknown. So many ways for thieves and criminals to steal whole elections with them and leave nary a finger print.

Where the heck does McCain get off saying something like this. Is he channeling Patrick Ewing saying he's going to win the NBA championship and never does, or does he know about something that is not apparent to anybody else right now.

Can he have internal tracking polls that show massive trends in favor of McCain. Why would that happen right now. It would mean that his negative ads are seriously working and up to this point they have cost him, most think it was bad for McCain to go totally neg.

Also it would me that McCain has hit upon a serious message that is really resonating. Is this happening? We don't see it do we?

They seem more in disarray than ever.

Plus Obama is outspending McCain 3 and 4 to 1. So he can squelch negative ads easy.

Its a little creepy.
