Yea, maybe on the surface of the planet this is the situation, but deep in the subsurface where there might be liquid water and hot springs, I doubt it. The fact that periodically bursts of methane occur in certain regions in spring indicates the very real possibility that life exists down there and under the right conditions, the surface thaws enough to allow it to vent waste gases like methane skyward. A satellite is on its way to the planet to test this very hypothesis.

I don't know enough to comment knowledgeably but in support of what you write the article does say - "...we might expect to find organisms adapted to high pressure life similar to piezophiles on Earth, such as deep sea bacteria and other organisms that thrive at high pressure."
