The Market On Monday

Good morning it is 57 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The long range forecast has temperatures in the modest 60s over the next week. I hope you had a good holiday weekend, it's always nice to get together with family members and share food.

At 9:10 a.m. ET, DOW futures are +45 and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open moderately higher.

Reports are coming out with more news about Trump-Russia. It looks pretty damning and one suspects that there are many people at this point who have highly detailed information about Trump's inner circle colluding with Russia. It was a quid pro quo arrangement. Russia would hack away and assist Trump in gaining the White House. Trump would reciprocate by loosening up USA - Russia policy. This certainly explains the softer Russia language we've heard from Trump. The question now is, how will this play out. With Trump focusing on war with North Korea, we may have found the Reichstag moment. It's war.

Pence, who was in South Korea, said that Pyongyang should not test the resolve of the U.S. "or the strength of our military forces."
