The Market On Monday

Good morning. It is hazy and 52 degrees here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a hazy day with temperatures in the low 70s this afternoon. That temperature will feel good on the bones as it were. I hope you had a good weekend. Activity has definitely moved to the outdoors, I spent a lot of time outside over the weekend.

At 9:00 a.m. ET Dow futures are +211 (!) and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open significantly higher.

The first 100 day reviews of Trump are coming in. What do you think? I think he is an unmitigated failure, it is more than being an unmitigated failure. Trump is dividing the country in a way that is hard to describe. It is extreme, it is ugly, it is thoughtless, it's crude, and above all, it's dangerous. The man clearly is in over his head, he runs on his massive ego anxiety propelled narcissistic energy, and he seems to have no ability whatsoever to keep a lid on his speedy zippy, strange thought process. He just spouts out nonsense. Expect to see the government shut down this week. God help us.
