The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is cloudy and 50 degrees here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts rainy clouds and temperatures in the 50s this afternoon. The long range forecast has temperatures rising over the next week and sunshine over the weekend. It's nice looking out the window and seeing the leaves and color making their way back into the field of vision.

At 9:05 a.m. ET DOW futures are +11 and the price of oil per barrel is flat. The market is poised to open ever so modestly higher.

All these working class people voted for Trump and yet he has come out of the gate removing protections that helped these same people. Trump has given more power and control to corporations. He is giving them the green light to pollute the communities that all of us live in including Trump supporters. Trump would be happy to remove the tiny health care benefits that poorer working class people get from Obamacare and that includes Trump supporters. Trump is removing access to health care for working class women who voted for Trump. We can talk about people in all sorts of ways. One way is that there are two types of people in this particular category. There are people who believe that what happens in the world that does not include themselves and only themselves, does not matter. The world could be burning but as long as they are relatively safe, nothing else matters. And then there are people who feel inclusion, feel that they are one little part of a big entity, and that big entity needs to be healthy and cared for.
