Science Daily: Scientists find the brain's generosity center - Brain area that lights up when we do good for others is more active in more empathetic people
summary - Scientists have identified part of our brain that helps us learn to be good to other people. People who rated themselves as having higher levels of empathy learned to benefit others faster than those who reported having lower levels of empathy. They also showed increased signalling in their subgenual anterior cingulate cortex when benefiting others.
