The Market On Thursday

Good morning. It is 68 degrees and it is sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast predicts another exceptional day with sunshine and temperatures hitting the 80s this afternoon. David French? Oh yeah he'll carry some votes, yawn. Trump is now beginning to feel the burn as it were, Trump University which appears to be an extremely fraudulent con game entity, is on display. We are getting to know Mr Trump better and better and one theme keeps popping up - give Donald the money.

At 9:00 a.m. ET futures are moderately lower and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open lower.

Lots of activity today as investors are faced with data from all directions. First time jobless claims are falling, the number is now around 267,000 per week. On Friday the government will release numbers on jobs created in May. There is a big deal ECB meeting going on which will influence and affect monetary policy in the EU. Also there is an OPEC meeting going on in Venezuela, expect nothing to come of this as OPEC is not really a functioning entity as of late.

OPEC is now pumping oil at near-record levels of 32.7 million barrels a day, according to the International Energy Agency. Four Gulf producers -- Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and Qatar -- make up just over half of the output.
