Good morning. It is 69 degrees, breezy, and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast is calling for a sunny day with temperatures in the 80s by this afternoon. I hope you had a good weekend. I am typing on a new computer and wow, it sure makes a difference speeding around the internet. I bought the old computer in 2008 and although it still worked on the internet, the way websites are now loaded with multimedia junk, it took forever for the computer to function on certain websites. Other websites I just never went to because the computer could not handle all the data. I suspect this computer will not last 8 years, on the other hand I might not either!
At 8:50 a.m. ET futures are moderately higher and the price of oil per barrel is up with oil again verging on $50 per barrel. The market is poised to open higher.
The most compelling mention in the article this morning is another reference to Janet Yellen. Ms Yellen will possibly be giving hints at the next base Fed interest rate hike later this afternoon. Notice that France is in the midst of a huge social upheaval.
CNN:
Stocks: 4 things to know before the open by Ivana Kottasova
Fed chief Yellen will speak in Philadelphia at 5:30 p.m. ET. Analysts will be watching the speech closely for any hints on a rate hike.
