  The author lays out the argument that at this stage of the presidential campaign, electability is not an issue. However as the election in November of 2016 gets a lot closer, electability becomes very important and that is when the candidates are weeded out. I am fond of what Bernie Sanders is saying, I just don't think he can win. I have no faith, but I would be happy to be proven wrong. Trump on the other hand could very well win because in this field of extreme GOP candidates he comes off as a moderate! Think about it, only Trump has come to the defense of Planned Parenthood minus abortions. Planned Parenthood support is anathema to conservatives. On the other hand it could be that the GOP has moved so far to the right that even a birther like Trump is too far to the left!
