I'll give one reason why I never will. You have to walk them daily. Having a dog is like having a child forever. Their only saving grace is they don't live very long. I'm a cat person, feed them, pet them when they'll allow it and just relax.
That's okay, I have a cat too. She got outside through a hole in the screened porch today and we spent an hour getting her back in. Dogs are simpler beings.
