Oy! Yea, it's happening. You can't fool mother nature as the old saying went. I would disagree though with one premise that we haven't experienced abrupt climate change before. Maybe not quite as abrupt, but we have experienced it repeatedly over the course of the last million yrs. Each time the planet brought forth the eruption of one of its mega-Volcanoes we experienced global winters that stretched on sometimes for yrs. as the huge clouds of ash and SO 2 obscured the sun and shut down photosynthesizes and killed of much of our food. The last major event was approx. 73 thousand yrs. ago in the depth of the Ice age. Our species barely survived that event. This time around though its going to be worse. However, this time around we have high technology, some people will survive. How many is indeed debatable. Dr. McPherson has been extremely pessimistic for a long time. Personally, I have more faith is our inborn drive for survival as a species. Its going to get really rough up ahead , but we're going to pull through like we did through 6 Major Ice ages and almost a dozen Mega Volcanic eruptions.

Yes, they don't pull any punches on this one. It's hard to process it all actually. I approach it little by little. We're in deep shit and all I read now is that oil imports are rising.
