Not surprising. A really blatant example is how so called fat genes in some populations have been handed down from our species experience of the last ice age. The memory of that time is even linguistically evident in the use of that word. Fat times = good times etc.

What I find interesting in this article is this idea that comes through over and over that there are very subtle forces at play that affect each and every individual. I would suspect that most of us don't really have a good handle on it either. We know many things but not these subtler things. Life is very very rich.
