The Carbon Barons are like any drug dealers out here, they've worked hard to get and keep us all addicted to our daily fix of hi carbon energy and they have absolutely no desire to change the situation. They're living large and couldn't care less what happens to the planet since most of them aren't going to be alive when the shit hits the fan. Shame on them, but honestly knowing how they think and act, could we expect any different? They think no matter what happens their children and grands will be able to hide away somewhere. Its always been the thinking of the wealthy from time immemorial. All those Castles on hill tops got there for the same or similar reasons.

It's a real hard slog. At the center is oil production, but then radiating out in endless ways are transportation, plastics, economics, employment, medicine, you name it. It's like oil is the King and Queen and the servants are the billions of people on the planet. Practically speaking though, the armor has gotten a little dented in the past few decades because there are more people like you and me that are suspect of the system and complaining about it. Then you have a country like Germany with 70% of their energy from green sources. It's going to be a very hard struggle and this recent oil drop for example was a big blow against renewable energy but the war's not over by a long shot. Unfortunately the timing could very well be over, too little too late. I actually think that it's too little too late, we have to face the changes.
