The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 70 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast has the temperature going up around 90, it's going to be hot. It's been another strange week, would you agree. I'm noticing more and more news space is devoted to ISIS as the group's brutality has really touched a global nerve. We'll miss Joan Rivers who was a fixture in American life for decades. She really knew how to defy the forces of aging that seem to diminish one's overall energy.

At 8:00 a.m. ET futures are moderately lower and the price of oil per barrel is up.. The market is poised to open lower.

The government will release it's report on jobs for the month of August at 8:30 a.m. The number may very well be the biggest market mover of the day and in what has been a rather lackluster week for stocks.

CNN: Stocks: 4 things to know before the open

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the highly-anticipated August jobs report at 8:30 a.m. ET. This is one of the biggest market events of the month because it gives investors deep insight into the health of the U.S. economy.
