Sign My Petition

Update - talk about infuriating - the White House petitions website is now offline due to the shutdown. So the petition goes nowhere until the shutdown ends.

I just wrote a petition to the White House:
During the period of any federal government shutdown, members of Congress shall receive no salary.

At present members of Congress are paid during a federal government shutdown. The petition aims to change this policy and stop all salaries to members of Congress and related staff during the entire length of a shutdown.
It takes 150 signatures for it to go public, then 100,000 for it to be reviewed by the White House. Here's the link - We petition the obama administration to: During the period of any federal government shutdown, members of Congress shall receive no salary.
