Jim Sande said...: I think I was reading that the oil companies have quadrupled their lobbying efforts in the last year. It will literally be a fight to the death. Big oil is not about to compromise with anybody, their entire business model is based on growth with increased production and increased sale of "product." America may even become the largest oil producer out stripping Saudi Arabia as they open up more fields. Plus the price of gas is now engrained at the higher prices in the US. The cash cow is literally dripping gold. We are in for a fight and a half and then some. I predict that the warming trend along with the severe no longer aberration temperatures and weather event along with all the multitude of environmental changes occurring continues and becomes the new norm as it were. The young generations will have no recollection of the Holocene as we have experienced it. I am not optimistic, but I will continue to be involved as best I can to spread the word and try to persuade people that we have got to stop throwing billions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, that this is an unthinkable act of stupidity.; 7:49 AM
