One suspects that the decent old time GOPers are not quite clued into the very ugly changes that have occurred in their party. Historians know the answer but I cannot recall a period in my lifetime when the GOP has been so utterly brutal. The rhetoric makes one cringe. The Democrats on the other hand, instead of seizing on an opportunity to unite and advance, merely play into the GOTP hands and act out catch up scenarios in the news. They are playing defense and one has to ask why.

GOP’s Three Biggest Fears in 2012
"...the Republican Party, has become an insurgent outlier—ideologically extreme; contemptuous of the inherited social and economic policy regime; scornful of compromise; unpersuaded by conventional understanding of facts, evidence, and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.”

The part about dismissive of the legitimacy of the opposition is the scary part. This is why the Reptilian Party has been pushing their Voter ID laws everywhere. What they really want to do is narrow the franchise any way they can and have Scalia et. al. say it's just fine. No more voting for Women, not a problem, minorities no big deal and on and on. In the end all they want voting are other White male Reptiles. Game Over. Oh , it's Original intent Scalia will say it's all Org. Intent. The M$M will do it's Move along folks nothing to see here tune and the sheep will do just that.
