It Gets Worse

phys.org: Researchers find link between climate change, ozone loss and possible increase in skin cancer incidence
...water vapor injected into the stratosphere by powerful thunderstorms converts stable forms of chlorine and bromine into free radicals capable of transforming ozone molecules into oxygen. Recent studies have suggested that the number and intensity of such storms are linked to climate changes, Anderson said, which could in turn lead to increased ozone loss and greater levels of harmful UV radiation reaching the Earth's surface, and potentially higher rates of skin cancer.

OY. Humanity has to stop using the Oceans, Rivers, Lakes and the Atmosphere as toilets for our various and sundry waste products. In specific anything that actively or even indirectly destroys the OZONE layer is a real big no no. CO2, Methane and other greenhouse gases need tight regulation. If we applied the level of concern and regulation we put on stopping people from smoking pot on these other substances guys like Exxon-Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson and his crowd would all be wearing striped PJ's. Instead, these criminals are actively destroying the Planet's ability to sustain human life.

We are reading about new symptoms of the main problem, global warming, every single day. Clearly we are flying by the seat of our pants, and even scientists can't foresee all the changes. All of these new daily discoveries are negative, they harm life in some way. This one linking global warming to ozone depletion. Talk about a double whammy. "The ozone layer absorbs 97–99% of the Sun's medium-frequency ultraviolet light..." Considering the oil industry has plans to burn fossil fuels whose emissions will well exceed this sickening 2 degree give-a-way, it's looking like we are heading into a mass extinction or mass reduction in the population. I am missing something here?

I don't think they are doing any of this to reduce the pop. Unless, they're really the extraterrestrial reptilian race from the TV series V, in which case they might actually be changing the planet's climate so it's more habitable for a Dino like species and at he same time getting rid of the mammal infestation presently occupying the areas they'll need. I tend though to go with the Occam's Razor approach on this one that they're just greedy and in denial.
