McKibben is starting to sound desperate and scary and Noam seems resigned to the worst at this pt. The general public prefers to believe it's not going to happen or happen so slow we'll be able to adapt or slow enough where we can add a solar panels and electric cars and all will be well etc. etc.... They 're are all wrong, it's going to get worse up ahead soon far worse and by the time it does and people start to realize it , it will already be too late to do much because of the inertia involved in these huge systems.

So what do we do. We need to start the dialogue on what we do as the changes present themselves more and more.

I will not be surprised to see in the next decade a band of temperatures in a particularly hot summer where it goes over 125 or 130, I'm talking in a place like San Antonio or Tulsa or Vegas. So hot that you can't leave air conditioning without risking your life. Essentially where the environment is not habitable on its own. It might not last long but this what we are talking about.
