They are talking currents that will conduct that water "out to sea." "Out to sea" seems to be the answer that satisfies enough ingrates. "Out to sea" is inadequate for us.
The idea is the same one we are being brainwashed with all along - the radioactive water will dilute itself in the vast Pacific Ocean. This is incredibly inadequate and is in fact insulting. Its not an acceptable answer because the Pacific Ocean is not a great washing machine for the ills of mankind.
Something is going to absorb that radiation, something will be adversely affected, that you can count on. This talk that attempts to minimize the ugliness is degrading.
CS Monitor: Radiation 101: How far will radioactive water leaking from nuclear plant go?
Where will the radioactive water go? Japan is fortunate in that ocean currents near Fukushima may well carry the radiation away from land and help the dilution process. The Kuroshio Current, the Japanese equivalent of the Gulf Stream, flows up Japan’s east coast before veering off to the northeast in open waters.

The silver lining for all it's worth is this disaster woke many people back up to the dangers of this stupid form of energy production. Obama on the other hand.
Yes, that is true. Some countries have already made changes, not here though as far as I can tell. I do think Indian Point has a chance of getting closed because Cuomo wants it closed. Of course he's a politician and who knows.
