Maybe August

Its easier to launch a spaceship to the moon than to shut the 5,000 feet below the sea Gulf leak. This is how intense the pressure is at that level.

It is now being suggested that the leak will continue through August.

That is of course bad enough, however can we recall any deadline or projected date fairing well in this ordeal. In other words, August is just another suggestion.

Christian Science Monitor: BP oil spill: 'top kill' failure means well may gush until August
Some scientists have noted, without hyperbole, that it would be easier to launch a spacecraft to the moon than shut down the Macondo wellhead, which is 5,000 feet deep.

The Gulf coast is F*cked! I just pray it doesn't make it up the east Coast and foul our beaches and estuaries as well. BP deserves to go bankrupt behind this.

Yes its going to take decades to repair this and let's not forget that there are plenty of other oil rigs out in the Gulf.

This thing comes up the East coast, wow, I can't imagine the consequences.

No way to stop it from going wherever it wants. Once it's in the Gulf Stream it could make it all the way to Europe even. The potential for ecological destruction from this one well make you take pause. Thousands of these wells are offshore worldwide maybe tens of thousands. The howler monkeys of the right are now saying if we want OIL we have to "man up" and accept this is the price. Is it? Then it's too high.
