The Market On Thursday

At 7:00 a.m. futures are up.

Oil, European stocks, and Chinese stocks are also up, so the prospects for a higher opening are strong. We would all like to see the market reverse the past 4 day of losses.

The big day is tomorrow, Friday, when job loss numbers for August come out. The story will be the one we are all too familiar with, i.e. the numbers will be bad, but will they be as bad as expected (which is good) or will they show up worse than expected (which is bad).

Reuters: Stock futures signal rebound; retail sales eyed
The key back-to-school selling season comes into focus as a number of U.S. retailers report monthly sales.
