Getting Poorer

The linked McClatchy article below is based on data from the government.

Find the data here - US Census Bureau

The interesting thing to remember while reading is that the numbers are based on data collected through March. Since March 2009, some of the worst has occurred, and so the next release of parallel data in the future will show further deterioration.

McClatchy: Americans are getting poorer, and it's going to get worse
Because real median household income is 4.2 percent lower than it was in 2000, Katz said, "We've basically seen a lost decade for the American family," with only the top earning families doing better now than they were in 2000.

The national poverty rate also hit its highest level since 1997, jumping to 13.2 percent in 2008 from 12.5 percent in 2007. The increase meant that 39.8 million people lived below the poverty line, the most since 1960.

I believe this is the goal of the oligarchs. They've decided that a middle class is not desirable and if anything is a nuisance best done without.

Yes, they need the middle class's money. The Trilateral Commission wanted to limit democracy. This is on the agenda. Powerless and poor, its the new way.

They experimented with the idea ( of a middle class) for a couple of centuries but it just didn't work for them. Feudalism is so much more fun and easier. You just kill as many peasants as required to keep order, that's been made easier these days with all the new fancy weapons around.
