From Middle Class To Homeless

I saw this at Huffpo and it deserves to be reposted on all blogs.

Its the story of a middle class family, moving from both parents employed and some sense of security to losing both jobs, then no money, and finally homelessness.

Its all very disturbing.

Azcentral.com: Arizona family descends into homelessness
At 59, Ed wondered if maybe employers thought he was too old. Bridget, who's 51 and has 20 years of experience in human resources, suspected that she was passed over for some jobs because she was overqualified.

...the Robertsons fell behind on their car payments. First one was repossessed, and then the other. Their landlord, whom they paid $1,000 a month, was kind and understanding but, well, Bridget says, "We couldn't expect them to continue to let us not make the rent."

Friends helped them pack up and move their belongings into a 10- by 25-foot storage unit.

The first time the Robertsons went to the food bank was the hardest.

This is the real face of the Great Recession more and more once proud Middle class folks are finding themselves facing poverty yrs. before they can get SS or Medicare. These are the people who have watched their lives being swept away by a Tidal wave of Greed. What amazed me is how little has changed a yr. later. Wall st. having trashed the World's economy and wrecked the lives of millions goes about it's business as if nothing happened! The Obama admin. so far has acted the same way, allowing these pirates to just go on doing the same stuff that got us into this ditch. Is this change we can believe in? The Obama people act as if their was no bad faith in all of this. Having Geitner and Summers head up the economy was a mistake!

Its true, Obama is turning into another mediocre Republican president.
This seems to be the choice - some rightwing x-tian war lover or republican light.

Yes, have u noticed how when we get Dem. Prez. now they hire GOP Defense Sects. and put Wall st. flunkies as Treasury Sect. It's as if they know that certain parts of the Gov't are wholly owned by the GOP and it's economic allies so why bother. So nothing much changes as a result. It's now Gov't by the Corps. for the Corps. 24/7. President Coolidge would be thrilled to know that the Business of DC is still business ( as usual).
