AP: Bush: Jobless data shows US economy not 'robust' enough
...Bush said Friday that new jobless claims show that the US economy is not as "robust" as it should be but expressed confidence that it will eventually recover.Between cutting taxes for the super rich and involving the US in a 3 trillion dollar war, it is Bush who is responsible for the economy.
I became tone deaf to Bush years ago but this particular word play is ridiculous.
Followers of the neo-conservative movement know all too well that "robust" is their favorite word. Everything is robust and now Bush is defining a recession as "not robust." Bush and his PR firm stooges have attempted to redefine language with monstrosities like unborn baby, and preemptive or preventative war. Its a disease.
Fortunately Bush never called a living human being an "pre-dead corpse." But it fits the logic.
Check the PNAC document and any public talk by the neo-conservative crowd and you will hear "robust" repeated frequently.
Why this is true is another question but its probably the work of some PR firm. In other words, the US taxpayer paid for this bit of language propaganda.
