Afghanistan Surge Update

NYT: Pentagon Considers Adding Forces in Afghanistan
The Pentagon is considering sending as many as 7,000 more American troops to Afghanistan next year...

...the number of American forces there...(will be)...roughly 40,000, the highest level since the war began more than six years ago...
Back in February 2008, Times Online reported: US plan for Afghan troop surge
The conservative Washington think tank that devised the “surge” of US forces in Iraq has come up with a plan to send 12,000 more American troops into southern Afghanistan.
The conservative think tank is the American Enterprise Institute. As you know, it is home to the neo-conservatives, the folks who brought you "Iraq the massive quagmire."
