We've been discussing this movement for years and it's plainly visible now everywhere. Democracy and Republican style rule is NOT the norm for most of human history Autocracy is and I 'm starting to believe that it has its roots in millions of years of tribal living where the clan, tribe or group always had an A male or A Female to look to for leadership. I think its baked into us at the genetic level and democracy less so. The democratic impulses are part of the need for consensus among groups and so both impulses are there and depending on the pressures placed on humanity at different pts. in history one form or the other tends to predominate. Autocracy is surging back right now for some reason?

Good question. I have no answer for that. I personally believe that democracy and more democracy is the best approach.
