Idiotic Nonsense

Guardian UK: Trump voters see his flaws but stand by president who 'shakes things up' - Northampton County, Pennsylvania flipped from reliably blue to backing Trump – and despite his disappointments, many still say there was no better alternative

I have family living in the RED zones of Pa. They all voted for Trumpf most still grudgingly support him a few still fanatically the rest are silent. We basically avoid discussing politics with any of them anymore and sadly it's caused a kind of ceasefire line to exist between us. It's not just about Trumpf either it's about many things they believe in that they pick up as FOX Cable TV and right-wing radio. We all seem to exist in our own separate realities politically and more worrisome ideologically and culturally.

Coincidentally I just read this advice for how to deal with unpleasant political discussions -

"It’s not always possible to transform a hostile situation into a constructive disagreement, where you can just agree to disagree. At times like that, you may simply need to let it go. But even though it may not be workable to continue the conversation in that moment, we can always come back later and try again. With time, the picture can always change. We may be able to come back to that person later and be able to experience some sense of kindness."
