summary - Astronomers have been trying to determine whether there might be water on the seven Earth-sized planets orbiting the nearby dwarf star TRAPPIST-1. The results suggest that the outer planets of the system might still harbor substantial amounts of water. This includes the three planets within the habitable zone of the star, lending further weight to the possibility that they may indeed be habitable.

However, the planets are all tidally locked to the star which means they all have one side locked to the sun like the moon is locked to us. That means one side is hot and the other frozen solid. Could life exist in the inbetween areas? Nobody knows since there isn't an example of such a planet in our solar system.
If humanity can somehow manage to not make itself extinct. The future could be interplanetary.
